Texas–Oklahoma Kiwanis Foundation
For generations, the Texas–Oklahoma Kiwanis Foundation has strengthened the work of Kiwanis by supporting programs that shape the lives and futures of young people across both states.
Established in 1965, the Foundation was originally chartered as the Texas-Oklahoma Children’s Camp Foundation. It was located in Mason, TX and was mainly for young boys from Austin and San Antonio who were fatherless or needy. The President at this time was Hugh Hornsby. At the District Convention in Stillwater, OK in 1971 by law changes were adopted and approved creating the Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis Foundation, Inc. into a district-wide force dedicated to leadership development, scholarships, and character-building opportunities for our youth and sponsored youth programs. The first President of this new Foundation was Wallace Moritz.
C.T. Bush and his wife Rose are looked upon as one of the Founders of the District Foundation. It was his dream that someday the Foundation would be able to fund all projects for youth Services and Sponsored Youth of the Texas Oklahoma district.
Our Purpose
We provide financial support for leadership training, scholarships, and service initiatives that help young people grow into confident, capable leaders. In addition, the Foundation supports the District Disaster Relief efforts and has set aside funds to help new and struggling clubs. A volunteer Board of Directors representing every region of Texas and Oklahoma oversees all programs and funding. All contributions are fully tax-deductible under our 501(c)(3) status
